Dangerous Horse Riding Crossbow to rocket on the keyboard trail

20-damage starter bolts, projectile delay, and which shop gun is worth a win streak.

Weapons Guide

Weapons in Dangerous Horse Riding exist to knock other horses off giant keyboard keys. They do not replace steering. A dead mount is a fall into the canyon, and your own rocket can be the thing that deletes the run. Ikinamada Studio launched the place on 1 April 2025 as a free 25-player obby. You spawn with a crossbow. The shop sells a pistol, an SMG, a sniper, and a rocket. Coins for those guns come from flags, not from codes — there are still no active promo codes and no known gamepasses.

Read this page after you can stay on a letter. Getting Started and how to play cover lobby, reins, and the shift-lock bug (do not equip a bow or gun before shift lock). How to win decides when a fight is worth taking. Ranked spend order lives on the weapon tier list. This article is the “how they actually fire” version.

Starter crossbow: 20 damage and delay

The default weapon deals 20 damage per bolt. It is a projectile with travel time. Aim high. Lead the target. A horse walking left across a wide key is not where your reticle is; it is where the reticle will be when the bolt arrives. Bolts that look like misses at the muzzle can still clip a rump if you aimed above the body.

Twenty damage is a poke. Ice Horse, the one secret with a player-reported HP of 200, would take about ten clean bolts if nobody else is shooting. Shop horses with less HP fold faster. That math tempts people to duel on a two-wide key. Don’t. Holster through gaps. Draw on straights. The crossbow is how you learn leading without spending coins. It is not how you win a herd fight against an SMG.

Equip order:

  1. Enable shift lock.
  2. Then draw the crossbow.
  3. Then move.

Reverse that and the camera can break. The controls sheet is the short version. If you came here from a secret hunt — Ice Horse, Flipped Horse, Gray Stud — holster again. Easter eggs want a stable horse, not a 20-damage flex.

Shop guns: pistol, SMG, sniper, rocket

Wins pay coins. Daily rewards add a bit. Optional x2 coins and x2 wins boosts speed the loop. Spend with the shop planner before you touch the rocket.

Exact shop prices move in a beta. This wiki will not invent a coin number the live store does not show. Community riders later reported that checkpoint 1 may cost 1,000 coins; that is a trail fee, not a gun price, but it is the same purse. Keep a reserve.

Pistol is the honest first buy if you already finish flags and want more than 20 damage without changing your aiming habits much. SMG is the PvP spike: 25-player piles on a wide letter become a blender. Sniper is for people who can hold a line and still jump the next gap. Rocket is a team-wipe tool that does not know whose team you are on. If the blast radius includes your hooves, you paid coins to spectate.

The January lobby revamp added a Rope Tool and new horses. It did not replace the gun shop as the combat identity of the game. ShanKSRT’s ratings video (linked from how to play, weapons chapter at 1:43) is a visual pass of the store. Pair that with the weapon tier list rather than copying a year-old “best gun” comment.

Aim, HP, and why the horse is the health bar

You shoot horses, not avatars. Mount HP is the pool. Faster horses die in fewer hits if their HP is low; tankier horses soak pokes and still miss jumps. That is why this page tells you to buy a mount from the horse catalog or horse tier list before a rocket. A 200 HP Ice Horse (if you still own one and it still exists) is a crossbow sponge. A glass shop horse with a rocket is a highlight waiting to clip.

Combat rules that keep flags coming:

  • Arm on wide keys. Holster on gaps.
  • Aim high with anything that has travel time. Crossbow especially.
  • Do not chase a wounded horse onto a thinner letter.
  • If two people are already spraying, ride past. Their rockets will find each other.
  • After any shot, look at the next key before you reload-walk off the current one.

Quiet 2026 servers — far below the 25 July 2025 peak of about 8,951 concurrent riders — make guns less mandatory. Use that. Finish for coins. Buy HP. Then buy an SMG if herds still bother you. The place stayed joinable through August 2026 research even with a [DEAD] universe prefix; beta status is the listing note, not a reason to dump coins into a rocket “before shutdown.”

Scripts advertise modified pistols, crossbows, and SMGs. They are ban bait. Legal damage is 20 per starter bolt and whatever the shop currently sells. If you cannot win a fight, you can still win a flag. That is the actual loop: how to win, daily claim, shop, ride again.

Buy in this order unless the live store screams otherwise: horse you can steer, pistol or SMG, sniper only if you already finish, rocket last and only as a toy. The canyon collects people who reverse that list.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much damage does the starter crossbow deal?

20 per bolt, with projectile delay. Aim high. Upgrade paths are on the weapon tier list.

Which gun should I buy first?

Usually a pistol or SMG after you own a steerable horse. Use the shop planner. Skip the rocket until finishes feel cheap.

Why do my shots miss moving horses?

Travel time. Lead and aim high, especially with the crossbow. Camera setup is in how to play.

Do I need a gun to finish the trail?

No. Flags pay coins even if you never fire. How to win is the finish-rate page.

Are there weapon codes or gamepasses?

No known gamepasses, and no live codes. Guns are shop purchases funded by wins and dailies.
